Family picture with our little newsie :)

A few weeks ago, Ryan, Brady and I had a visit with my grandma. She is living in a board and care facility because she suffers from ALS and has lost most of her muscle function. It's so sad to watch her body deteriorate while her mind is still so sharp. She can hardly talk and is getting through most conversations with pen and paper. While it's a very difficult situation for all of us, we're so glad we're close enough to spend time with her on a fairly regular basis. While visiting a few weeks ago, she requested a family picture of us and she specifically said "a nice one" :). I promised I would bring one on our next visit.

We were planning on visiting her this past Saturday before going to visit my grandpa for an early Father's day celebration and I still had not found a picture to take to her. I'd love to get some professional shots taken but that can be so pricey, so we got ready and ran into the backyard for some quick shots. I'm pretty happy with what we got during our last minute photo shoot! Sure it would be nice if Brady and Walle were LOOKING, but what can ya do?

I knew we had to take pictures when I got Brady dressed in this super cute outfit. It finally fit him and I about died when I saw him in it! That HAT!! Those LOAFERS!! I just can't get over the cuteness of it all!!

Here he is with Grandma Neilson. Just after this she took him on a "play date" with her friend's grandson who is just a few months older. Up to this point, a play date with Brady consisted of him and his buddies sleeping or just being held while the moms talk, but Arlene said this time he was really interactive with the other baby. They were "talking" to each other and reaching for each other and generally interested in each other. Life with this kid gets more and more exciting as he is able to interact more. I just love it!
