Picnic at the Park

Bad news/Good news: Ryan got laid of from his job :( It's a real bummer but he really hated the job and was treated very poorly, so I'm trying to look at it as a blessing because it will force him to look for something better. The GOOD news is, while he's home, Brady and I get to spend a lot more time with him. I get to sleep in some days and take naps sometimes too :)

Today, we decided to take advantage of our time home together and the beautiful weather by walking to the park for a picnic. We weren't the only ones with this idea...almost every shady spot was taken by picnicers when we got there, but luckily a group was just leaving so we got a GREAT spot.

Ryan and Walle lead the way, sac lunch in hand

Brady was all set for an afternoon in the sun. He LOVES being outside, so we knew he would do well at the park.

We just laid him on a blanket while we ate and he sat happily staring up at the trees.

Walle, however, could NOT sit still. He was distracted by every kid that ran by, every noise, and every item of food that we were eating.

 My cute husband :)

When we pulled out the peanut butter Oreos, Walle went a little crazy and tried to grab one from Ryan.

 Our perfect picnic spot

Walle got a little curious about Brady

We didn't push him away fast enough, he licked him RIGHT on the cheek. My response was "EWWW gross, I KISS those cheeks!" Lucky for us, Walle is a very gentle and loving dog. If he wasn't, we wouldn't let him get so close to the babe.

Just after getting slimed. He didn't seem to mind.

 Nap time.

Absorbing his vitamin D...and LOVING it.
Don't want to burn that pretty little head of his...luckily we have the CUTEST hat in the world.
 Me and my boy

Brady was pretty tired after an hour or so...and Walle started FREAKING out because some kids were playing frisbee (his FAVORITE), so he kept trying to escape and get to them...so it was time to head home. I'd say our first picnic as a family was great. I think we'll do this often! Hopefully at the beach soon!

Three things:

1. Brandon has been laid off twice; hard stuff! But honestly, it was so good for our marriage. It forced us to work together and made us cling to each other as we looked for jobs. So, good luck! Lots of prayer helps. :)

2. Your Brady is so cute. Love his eyes!

3. Love picnics! I hope you get to the beach soon, too. Love the beach!!
