Musical Theater

I'm a HUGE musical theater fan. It all started in high school when my friend Megan's mom worked as the activities planner for a local retirement community. As the seniors ventured out on field trips, Megan and I would get to go along for free :) Our first senior field trip was to the Orpheum Theater in San Francisco to see Cabaret. I had no idea what to expect and was shocked to have tears streaming down my face during the opening song. It was then that I realized how much I LOVE musical theater. Since that day, over 10 years ago, I've had the opportunity to see several wonderful shows (and some not so wonderful ones). I've seen:

Caberet
Hairspray
Aida (one of my FAVORITES)
Cats
The Producers
42nd Street
Rent
Phantom of the Opera
Wicked (3 times)
Avenue Q
Mama Mia
Movin' Out
...and a few more that I can't think of (my playbill collection is buried in storage)

Anyway I've been told that any musical theater fan MUST see Les Miserables, but I've never had the opportunity...UNTIL NOW. It is coming to LA soon and Ryan booked our tickets for July 8. I'm SO stinkin' excited!!

---

p.s. After seeing all of these shows I always get emotional as the cast comes out and bows at the end. I've realized it's a dream of mine to be able to sing and dance (in the background) of some wildly popular show and come out and bow to a standing ovation. I can only imagine the natural high and sense of accomplishment that experience would bring. Too bad I can't sing...OR dance. :(
