Sierra's 1st birthday

Ryan and I drove up to Lodi on Friday night for our niece Sierra's 1st birthday party, which was on Saturday. My sister-in-law, Vickie, went all out and threw a great party. Sierra was a little overwhelmed by the large group of people doting over her, but she did really well and didn't fuss much at all.


This was the cake for all of the guests. It was SO good, and much bigger than it looks. It was 4 layers. 2 chocolate and 2 vanilla...with fresh strawberries in between. Mmmm.

This was Sierra's "smash cake".

She had it all to herself, but wasn't quite sure what to do with it...

She started to figure it out, but couldn't seem to get deeper than the frosting...I don't think she had ANY cake.

The frosting had so much food coloring in it that it stained her hands and face pink until the next day. The bath that followed this messy cake ordeal was a tear filled one. She did NOT like being covered in frosting!! Poor thing.

Anyway, the kid made out and got TONS of gifts. There sure are a lot of people that love her!!
