Our night as VIPs

Several months ago, Ryan, 3 friends, and I went to dinner at the Jazz Kitchen in Downtown Disney before we headed off to a concert at the House of Blues. Unfortunately, our dining experience left little to be desired. Nearly all of our meals were overcooked and poorly prepared. We're not the type to complain, but they had a comment card for us to fill out at the end of our meal. We were honest about our experience and then left, forgetting about the whole thing.

Well, a few weeks later, Ryan received an email from the chef apologizing for our unpleasant experience. He invited us to come back any time so they could prove to us that our experience was not normal.

Last week, we finally decided to take him up on his offer.

As soon as we showed up at the restaurant, we saw the hostess radio to the manager that we were there. He was upstairs watching for us. The hostess lead us through the entire restaurant to our table on the Queen's Balcony. There are only two tables out there and they're 'the best tables in the house'. The table alone was impressive to me. But the events that followed blew us away. The server was very helpful, the manager came by to apologize for our previous experience and promised that this one would be better, the chef came out and asked if there was ANYTHING we wanted or needed. Our food all came out faster than expected and, to our surprise, was DELICIOUS! Honestly, I've never had a steak so tender! Finally, we ordered dessert, a chocolate bread pudding, which takes 25 minutes to prepare...it was out within 10 minutes.

Anyway, we had a great experience and are so glad we were able to go back and change our opinion of the Jazz Kitchen. We know we caught them on a bad night before, but they far surpassed our expectations this time around.

Fun! I wish people did that every time I had a problem!
